“Sport for change” is a youth exchange that will take place from the 29th of June till 9th of July 2013, in Castelfranco Emillia, a municipality of 32.324 citizens, 30km far from Bologna. The project will involve 30 youngsters coming from Uk, Spain, Hungary, Turkey and Italy. The youngsters will undergo a non formal process of intercultural and concrete learning with the main aim of using sport for social inclusion of disadvantaged young people, in particular immigrants. In this way, we want promote multiculturalism and inclusive growth, using sportive activities, workshops and debates with informal methods of learning. The sport has a major potential as a tool for promoting social inclusion and social cohesion in European societies as it provides citizens with opportunities to interact and join social networks, helps immigrants to develop relations with other members of the society and constitutes a tool for reaching out to the underprivileged or groups at risk of or facing discrimination. Through its contribution to economic growth and job creation, sport can also help to revitalise disadvantaged areas. The output will be to organize workshops and team matchs during the “Mondiali Antirazzisti” (http://www.mondialiantirazzisti.org), an event created in 1997 to fight omophobia, sexism, promoting the value of sport activities e multiculturalism, that each year involves thousands of people from all the World.
